A Wonderful movie.

As good as it gets is just a wonderful movie. Jack Nicholson is one of my favourite actors, and once again he delievers a brilliant performance. Melvin Udall is a writer with numerous phobias. He lives next door to a gay artist who owns a little dog. Melvin does`nt like dogs or gays, he does`nt even like people. What does he like? He can`t stand to get touched, and allows only one waitress to serve him at his regular cafe. Helen Hunt plays the waitress, and Greg Kinnear the gay neighbour. Terrific acting by both of them. This movie is very funny, and has a lot of charm. As Good As It Gets is just as good as it gets. It`s one of the best movies of the nineties. You`re bound to enjoy it. Buy it before it becomes a classic. A strong 6 on the 1-6 scale.

Jack talking

Jack Nicholson is a neurotic author, whose only pleasures in life is pestering his gay neighbour (Greg Kinnear) and his regular waitress (Helen Hunt). When his neighbour is attacked, Jack has to take care of his little dog. Ofcourse, this makes Jack a lot nicer and suddenly he has to tackle the problems of relating to other people. He`s not very good at first, but with the help of Hunt and Kinnear he slowly makes progress.
It`s not the most original of stories, but fine acting saves this film. As usual Jack got most of the credit, but both Kinnear and especially Helen Hunt are impressive. Hunt won a deserved OScar for this film. It won`t change your life, but you will have a good time seeing it.
