The Messenger est of non Importante!!

Stigmata is a brilliant religious thriller with stunning visual images and great acting. It also have a great story. I saw it twice in a row, and the second time I listened to the commentarytrack by Director Rupert Wainwright. It is a great commentary and highly informative and entertaining. Oh I love this movie. Many have written that Stigmata is an Excorcist wannabee and rip-off, but I don`t think it is. The Excorcist is after The Godfather my all time favourite movie, and even if there is a tiny resemblence in some scenes, the plot is entirely different in Stigmata. There is a case of posession in Stigmata, but it can`t be compared to the posession in The Excorcist. Patricia Arquette, Gabriel Byrne and Jonathan Price are all great
in this movie. But the director`s visual filming is the greatest about the movie. Stigmata has a flawless picturequality that maybe is some of the best I`ve seen yet. The sound kicks butt too, and really helps to drag you into the stunning visual world of Stigmata. I don`t want to reveil the actual story for those who still haven`t seen it, but it is very intelligent. This
is a movie to enjoy over and over again, and you get to choose between the director`s ending and the theatrical. That`s something I like to see more of ( Studio`s are you reading this? ). The exstra`s are good too, and there`s a hidden animated storyboardsequence which is very cool. You`ll find it on the ultracool animated main menu. Press up arrow on your remote, and enter at the top of the cross. This film belongs in every Dvdcollection. Stigmata gets full score - 6.
