Thank you Wes Craven, for making this brilliant ending to all the nightmaremovies. The series could not have got a better last movie than this one. New Nightmare is even better than the original nightmare on elm street. I think that this is Wes Craven`s best work ever - his masterpiece. The story takes place in real life with the real characters playing themselves. Heather Langenkamp ( i`m glad to see her again ), gets contacted by New Line Cinema. They tell her that Craven has thought up an idea for a new Nightmaremovie. He is currently working on the script. Heather`s husband gets killed on his way home one night, and they think it was an accident, but Heather who gets creepy phonecalls from some fan claiming to be Freddy, is not convinced. It is very fun to see the actors playing themselves, and it helps making the movie more real and frightening. New Nightmare is the scariest film in the nightmareseries, and the most serious one. Freddy is more dark and threatening than ever, and all the actors are giving all of themselves. The picture and sound is also the best of all the films, and like the first Nightmare on Elm Street, this disc contains a commentary track. This movie has to get a full score. 6 on the scale.
